Detroit Diesel engine machining

Detroit engines come to PDM the way most truck work does: a head that will not seal, a block that needs decking, or a full overhaul after a long service life. The machining is the same disciplined sequence we run on every engine — inspection first, then cutting.

Cylinder heads are stripped, cleaned and inspected before any metal is removed. Valve seats are machined to the correct three angles, valves are precision ground to equal height, and every head is pressure tested and Magnaflux inspected so a crack is found in the shop rather than in the truck.
