Complete cylinder head rebuilding
A valve job from PDM begins with a complete disassembly and thorough cleaning of the cylinder head.
The process
Complete cylinder head rebuilding
All valve guides and seats are inspected for wear. All valves are precision ground, including butt grinding and chamfering, to equal height. All valve seats are precision machined with the correct 3 angles, and every valve is checked for proper seating.
All valve springs are tested for correct spring pressure and installed height. Valves are inspected for correct stem height where applicable.
After all machining processes are completed, the cylinder head is re-cleaned with a rust inhibitive detergent to remove all machining chips and honing coolant. The culmination of the valve job is careful assembly of the cylinder head, by a PDM specialist, in our assembly clean room.
Stage 02 — precision machining
- 01Teardown & cleaning
Complete disassembly, thermal and hot-tank cleaning, and inspection before any metal is cut.
- 02Precision machining
Boring, honing, grinding and align boring — every cut indexed to a true relationship.
- 03Final assembly
Careful assembly in a dedicated clean room, isolated from the rest of the operation.
