Cleaning & degreasing
All engines are cleaned and degreased using one of our two cleaning systems, and every machined part is re-cleaned before it leaves.
The process
Cleaning & degreasing
After all machining processes are completed, cylinder heads and engine blocks are re-cleaned with a rust inhibitive detergent to remove all machining chips and honing coolant grindings.
PDM's cleaning and degreasing systems are closed-loop and self-contained, helping reduce waste disposal needs and minimise the potential for environmental contamination.
All parts brought to PDM for cleaning must be drained of all fluids — oil and anti-freeze — or a hazardous materials charge will be assessed.
Stage 01 — teardown & cleaning
- 01Teardown & cleaning
Complete disassembly, thermal and hot-tank cleaning, and inspection before any metal is cut.
- 02Precision machining
Boring, honing, grinding and align boring — every cut indexed to a true relationship.
- 03Final assembly
Careful assembly in a dedicated clean room, isolated from the rest of the operation.
